Callaghan Valley

The Callaghan and Brandywine Valleys are located close to Whistler, Squamish and the Lower Mainland. The area is a very popular destination for winter recreation activities that include cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. A new direction for winter recreation management in the Callaghan/Brandywine Valleys is helping to protect important environmental values, while improving the outdoor experience for all types of winter recreation. New zoning designations include a multi-use zone (motorized and non-motorized activities) and a winter non-motorized zone (self-propelled activities only). To provide snowmobiles with access to the Pemberton Icecap, a new designated snowmobile trail has been developed (Brandywine Snowmobile Trail).
