Volunteer/Hosting
There are many opportunities for members of the public to become involved in supporting Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) in managing the Province’s recreation sites, trails and facilities. Many individuals and organized groups volunteer their time to assist RSTBC with site and trail construction, maintenance and rehabilitation activities or with hosting recreation sites. These valuable contributions from the public are very important in assisting RSTBC in keeping open as many recreation sites and trails as possible. The volunteers also benefit from the experience through gaining personal satisfaction, facing new challenges, learning new skills, and contributing to their local communities.
Your interest in volunteering is appreciated, and will be well worth your while! The Volunteer Handbook will provide you with some guidelines and answer many of your questions. The purpose of the handbook is to address the general responsibilities and objectives associated with volunteering. It will supplement the orientation and training you will receive from your volunteer coordinator. Please use the handbook as a reference during your volunteer placement, as well as to record additional information as needed.
