    The Hawint/Tenquille Lake Recreation Site is collaboratively managed by RSTBC, the Lil̓wat Nation, and the N'Quatqua nation. The site is in the unceded territory of the Lil̓wat Nation, and the surrounding area is within the unceded territory of N'Quatqua.

    This site has significant cultural, spiritual and archaeological value for these peoples.

    Tenquille Lake is grizzly bear country. Be bear aware and store your food only in the bins provided. Never feed bears.
    Pursuant to S.20 of the Forest Rec. Reg. :
    1. Unauthorized Helicopter access is prohibited
    2. Unauthorized horse use within the recreation site is prohibited.
    3. Recreational motorized use is prohibited year-round within the recreation site and on Tenquille Lake trails.
    4. Dogs are not permitted within the recreation site or on the trails leading to the lake.
    5. Mountain biking is not permitted within the recreation site or on the trails leading to the lake, or on the Mt. Barbour trail.
    6. Camping is only allowed in designated sites
    7. Campfires are not permitted in the recreation site.
    The Province is working in partnership with Lil̓wat Nation and N'Quatqua implementing the Visitor Use Management Strategy for this area.

  • Driving Directions:This sub-alpine lake can be accessed from either the Hurley FSR via the Br. 12 road or the Lillooet River FSR via the Tenquille Lake Historic trail.

    2WD Access: Historic Tenquille Lake Trail

    Travel North on Pemberton Meadows Rd, take a right turn on the Hurley FSR @ 23Km and continue for approximately 2 km to the bridge crossing Lillooet River. Cross the bridge and park immediately on the other side. Trailhead is approximately 50 meters up spur road to the right.

    4x4 Vehicle Access: Branch 12 (FROM HURLEY FSR) To Tenquille Lake Trail

    Drive past Lillooet River access on Hurley FSR - zero your odometer at bridge, at approximately 7KM take RH (up) turnoff to towns of Bralorne/Goldbridge. Approximately 20 Km past Lillooet River bridge, look for the Hurley River/Tenquille Branch sign ('Branch 12') - turn right here. Distance to the trailhead is approx. 5 KM.
