Public Notice:

UPDATE: The trail at the site of the May 2023 landslide just outside and to the West of Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park (approximately 2.4km West of Little White FSR) is CLOSED until further notice. The site is subject to wet weather and seasonal shutdowns. Anticipated time of reopening is after the Spring freshet in 2024.

Recreation Sites and Trails BC is planning trail maintenance in multiple locations in 2024. Planned locations are:

-145.4km C&WRT Stone arch culvert upstream of Greenwood on Boundary Creek. Repairs planned for late summer 2024. Trail will be closed during construction. Detour via Highway 3 through Greenwood.

-186.3km KVRT Maintenance planned on crossing of Robinson Creek upslope of Naramata. Works likely to take place early Summer 2024. Expect to encounter dump trucks on trail between Robinson Creek and Glenfir Trailhead. Yield to heavy equipment and ensure you make eye contact before proceeding. Detour TBD. Please check back closer to date for detour information.

-130.3km C&WRT works planned on culvert at Rathmullen Creek crossing 3km East of Eholt road . Works planned for Late summer 2024 but could be pushed back to 2025. Detour TBD. Please check back closer to date for more accurate information.

-General maintenance planned in several locations along the trail at various points during 2024. Trail users must exercise caution, yield to heavy equipment and ensure they make eye contact with operators before proceeding into and past work sites.

The trail is closed from Princeton to Brodie Siding rd (Coquihalla) is closed to all users due to flooding as of Nov 15, 2021 and until further notice.

The trail is closed from Deans Road to Crump Station, along Trout Creek trail portion (of KVR) due to freshet erosion.

  • Site Description: The Spirit of 2010 Trail is a series of historic rail lines that pass through many communities across southern BC from the Fraser Canyon and Brookmere to Slocan Lake. The trail is comprised of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, Columbia & Western Rail Trail and Slocan Rail Trail. The rail line opened in 1915 and was abandoned in portions beginning in 1961, with the final segment falling into disuse in 1989. In 1962, the last freight train ran through the KVR line. The highest point of the rail is 1260 meters at Ruth.

  • Driving Directions: Access to the trail is possible from the many communities that the rail trail passes through. There are many access points where the trail crosses industry logging roads. Be mindfull of those sections of the trail with both motorized and non motorized use.
