  • Site Description: This 6,300 ha recreation site is located just 7.5 km from hwy 16 in Houston, providing all year round activities including xc skiing, snow-shoeing, ski-touring to an alpine cabin, mtn biking, and camping / angling / floating on Silverthorne Lake where there is a 8 unit campground with a picnic shelter and easy, 3 km trail around the lake. The Old Pines Trail, located 1.5 km past the campground, offers a 2 km loop with a floating boardwalk. Storey Lookout and Peacock Falls Trails fall within the recreation site; however, accessed from the Morice-Owen FSR via the Peacock East and Peacock West FSRs.
