  • Site Description: Trail Length - 7km. Elevation gain - 500m. Septet Pass is a high elevation meadow connecting the Frances Creek valley with the Septet Creek valley. Open vistas, hidden lakes, and spectacular views of neighbboring valleys. Experienced hikers can plan a tour between the Frances Creek valley and the Bugaboo Creek valley by linking the Septet Pass Trail with the Chalice Creek Trail. The McLean Lake Trail, which is located south of Frances Creek, can also be accessed from the same road end trailhead. Once you leave the parking spot, the trail follows the north banks of the Frances Creek along a NEW trail. After approximately 2 km along the new trail a junction to McLean Lake Trail will branch to the south. The Septet Pass trail will remain on the north banks of Frances Creek before veering up out of the main valley through forested slopes.

  • Driving Directions: Travel time from Radium Hot Springs or Invermere - 1.5 hours. Turn west at the main intersection in Radium Hot Springs on Forster's Landing Road. Cross the Columbia River and drive 9 km where you intersect Westside Road. Turn right onto Westside Road until reaching 41.5 km. A left turn here will put you on the Leadqueen -Frances Creek FSR. Continue 1.6 km and turn left onto the Frances Creek FS Road. Folllow this road to the 17.5 km mark and park near the old bridge site over Frances Creek. A new walking trail has been cut that follows the north banks of Frances Creek. Backtrack 50m to a small gravel pit to the north to start up the trail.
