  • Site Description: There is no camping at this site; day use only. The Laurie Guichon Grasslands interpretive Area is popular for hiking and nature studies in the spring/summer and tobogganing in the winter. There is a large grasslands multi-panelled interpretive kiosk, a wildlife tree and a trail to a viewing platform adjacent to small lake which often teems with waterfowl. Washrooms (outhouses)are also available and a small parking lot near the tobaggan hill. A great stop to take in local history and learn about the grasslands in the area. No summer motorized use permitted in this area and only after 30 cms of snow is present for snowmobiles to protect this unique and fragile grassland complex.

  • Driving Directions:Located southeast of Merritt just 10 minutes from Merritt, access is from Highway 5A/97C (Kamloops-Princeton Highway) via Lundbom Lake Road. The memorial kiosk and information area is immediatetly on your right once off the highway. The trail to the wildlife viewing platform is just around the corner where there is a short trail through the aspen trees.
