  • Site Description:The hidden gem of Smithers! Nestled in a mature, interior coastal forest with a campground, picnic areas, short trails and viewing platform with 360 degree panoramic views in the heart of the mountain basin. This site has 5 campsites for tents/small RV's/trailers. Enjoy the stunning views of Twin Falls from the viewing platform as they cascade down from Lake Kathlyn Glacier on Hudson Bay Mountain. Mountain goats can be seen on the cliffs and near the trails, please ensure pets are on leash when goats are present. The access road is narrow with sharp corners, larger vehicles should use extreme caution, there are no turn around spots on the access road and very limited pullouts. The campsites, parking lot and viewing platform are closed annually from November 1 - June 1 for avalanche risk. The entire campsite is located within avalanche terrain so please know the risks, plan your trip carefully and carry the appropriate avalanche safety/rescue equipment if recreating in winter.

  • Driving Directions:From highway 16, turn onto Lake Kathlyn Road, then Glacier Gulch Road. The site is at the end of Glacier Gulch Road. From Smithers, it is approximately 15 minutes by vehicle.
