Powder Beach (Riondel)

Site Description: This small secluded beach area is on the east side of Kootenay Lake. There is enough space for 1 or 2 tents on site.

Driving Directions: Access to this trail can be achieved by boat or 4x4 vehicles. Coordinates to the recreation site are 49.53.6853'N / 116.52.1128. For vehicle access from Riondel head north on Riondel North Road for 3km until you reach Powder Creek Forest Service Road. High clearance 4x4 capabilities are required past this point. Continue up the Powder Creek FSR until you reach the 12km sign marker, you will see an old deactivated road to your left. Park at the pull out in front of this road, do not continue driving past this point. Hike down the deactivated road for 1km until you see a spur on your left, head down this trail for 50m until you reach the small beach.
