Site Description:
This small, roadside, 1 unit campsite on Mitten Lake is popular with those who come looking to go for a quick and easy boating/paddling or swimming trip in the summer, and/or fish for cutthroat trout. This site has a small dock and gravel boat launch. In the spring and fall, this site can be popular with hunters/anglers. The Kispiox Valley is abundant with fish and wildlife and Mitten Lake offers a serene spot to enjoy nature. Driving Directions:
Located at 24km on Helen Lake Forest Service Road. North of the communities of Hazelton and Kispiox. Head north on Kispiox Valley Rd then at 28km turn left at Poplar Park road, go over the Kispiox River and proceed to Helen Lake FSR, take a left up Helen Lake FSR and site is located at 24km on right hand side and marked with 3 blade sign - OR - Take Kispiox trail, proceed to 58km on Kispiox Trail, take a left over the bridge on Kispiox River and turn left on Helen Lake Forest Service Road - OR - take Mitten Main off Hwy 37 and turn right down Helen Lake road to get to the site.
