  • Site Description: ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES (for all Kamloops Recreation Sites).
    Close to Ashcroft, Barnes Lake is a popular fishing lake for rainbow trout. Fly fishing and trolling are the preferred methods. This camp site has 15 defined vehicle units in 3 separate locations. There are nine at the north end, one mid way with a concrete pad, and 5 on the west/south end of the site. The lake water level can fluctuate causing boat launch at the north end to flood during periods of high water.
    We are actively looking for a Site Operator for this site, please contact the district recreation officer at noelle.kekula@gov.bc.ca to discuss further. Please use the site responsibly. As per the Recreation Regulations, camping is limited to a maximum of 14 consecutive days per visit

  • Driving Directions: From Ashcroft, travel along Hwy 97C towards Logan Lake. The highway switchbacks and climbs steeply as you leave Ashcroft. Approximately 8.7 km from the bridge in Ashcroft, turn north (left) onto Barnes Lake Road. Travel for approximately 2 km to arrive at the lake. The main camping area is situated at the north end of the lake. Just prior to arriving you will pass Willard Lake.
