Tacheeda Lookout Trail (Bear Lake)

Site Description: The Tacheeda Lookout Trail is an approximately 5.5 km (11 km round trip) moderate-difficult hiking trail that gradually weaves through various forest types and terminates in a sub-alpine area at the peak of Tacheeda Mountain, where the recently renovated Tacheeda Lookout Tower stands. Those who make the trip will be rewarded with spectacular views of the area, as the elevated tower provides excellent 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape.

Driving Directions:
*Note that the Chuchinka-Colbourne Road is an extremely busy industrial road. The use of two-way forestry radios is highly recommended*
Drive approximately 85 km north of Prince George and turn right onto the Chuchinka-Colbourne (2000) Road. Follow this road as it turns into the 800 Road and the trailhead is located on the right side of the road at km 840 (17 km off the highway)
